My adventure.

Today, I came to the realization that this is my adventure, and thus, I have embraced it and taken full flight.

I was the ultimate tourist today. Yes, as much as I shouldn't admit that, it is indeed true...and I had a pretty darn awesome day because of it! It was adventure time to the Fortress. To save a bit of money, I decided I would trek it up to the top old style. Ha! Little did I know that when I arrived at the top, I would find out that it would have cost me only about two more Euros than the entrance fee to take the lift. Oh, well. It was worth the trek, but boy, am I out of shape! haha! I was literally dripping with sweat. Ew. And it was SO HOT today!! (I take back any time I ever said I did not want air conditioning!)

Once I finally made it to the top, it was really cool. Chad said it wasn't worth my time, but I am glad I didn't listen to him. (I am pretty sure traveling with Chad would be high maintenance!) The view from the top was spectacular! You could see all of Salzburg when you turned around.

On the way up, I met a lovely American couple that I chatted with while we waited for our turn to tour inside. They were very sweet. :)

I spent some time exploring the rest of the fortress and almost missed the Marionette Museum! That would have been a terrible shame because it was pretty cool.

After the fortress, I made my way to the Nonnberg Convent. Beautiful! Unfortunately, you can only go inside the church, but that was still exciting for me. And I even saw a nun! Oh, Maria! I have to admit, she is a bit of an obsession of mine. ;)

Of course, I got lost finding my way back to town but eventually got there. Bought a cute bag, a shot glass with Mozart's face on it (how fabulous!), and also found Alexa's gift, which included tissues with Mozart's face printed on them. haha! Where else is the world would they monopolize on Mozart so much?! It's a little eccentric but highly amusing to us musicians.

Other things I saw today: a priest waltzing across Mozartplatz in his black garb talking on a cell phone. And a People to People group...that brought back memories! You know, it is just about exactly 5 years ago that I made my first trip to Europe. Crazy.

Tomorrow...Schloss Hellbrunn...perhaps by bicycle...muahaha! ;)
