Blizzard!!!

This weekend the choir was supposed to go on a "mini tour" to a few small towns, but then we were hit with a crazy blizzard. There is over a foot of snow outside! Oh my! (Actually, for here, that IS a lot of snow.) Growing up in the snow belt, this is really nothing. This sort of thing happens all the time. Trekking across campus through mounds of snow is rather fun I think! However, this is probably the most snow this place has seen in several years, so the whole city practically shut down. So we did not have choir tour. YAY! (I really was not looking forward to it.) Since we were snowed in, a few friends and I goofed off a bit. Watched some movies, visited the art gallery, talked, played on the computer, talked some more, trekked through the snow to get some food somewhere (most everything was closed!). But it was fun.
Last night, we watched The Holiday. It was hilarious! I really enjoyed it. I did not think it would be so amusing. Friday night, I got to talk to my dear friend Crystal on the phone. We talked for an hour and a half! She's in grad school now, so we don't get to see each other or talk as much anymore. I miss her! It was so nice to catch up! Over all, though, I pretty much goofed off and accomplished really nothing at all the whole weekend. Oh, well. Guess that is alright sometimes. (I really am too hard on myself sometimes.) My singing the past week has been not so swell, but it'll be alright. Probably just tired or something. It's just so frustrating. My lesson Thursday was quite ridiculous but filled with more giggles than usual. Lynn and I have determined that we share the same brain or something. We are both just crazy sopranos. We worked mostly on French this week. I am really quite horrible at it! It was like My Fair Lady all over again. I felt like Eliza Doolittle. We both thought that same thing at the same time. We'd get about five minutes through without laughter and then burst into laughter yet again. This went on for the whole hour. I really am going to miss her next semester...but when I come back, we'll get to have three semesters of greater work than we could ever do if I weren't to go away.
